Embryo Screening Used to Create Babies with Disabilities
Posted by jon8105 on January 8, 2007
Embryo screening has been going on for some time now and has continued to be a controversial topic. But now there is a procedure to where parents can choose to have their child be born with the same disabilities that they have (such has being a dwarf, deaf, etc.). These parents believe that they are not disabled and that there way of life would provide the best for their children. However, is this a personal reason or is it truly best for their children?
But the real issue is to whether or not embryo screening, especially in this situation, is unethical or not? Also, where do you draw the line if parents are allowed to make these decisions that will drastically effect the outcome of that baby’s life? In my opinion this seems a little too extreme and hopefully someone will step in and stop, because this procedure is already being performed by several medical facilities! more info >>
