Iraq’s Prime Minister is investigating the hanging of Saddam Hussein to try and find out who was taunting Saddam just before he was executed. Also, the Prime Minister is wanting to find out exactly who used their cell phone to video the hanging.
One of the Iraqi prosecutors said that some of the guards where taunting Saddam Hussein just before his execution, but not the ones who actually put the noose around his neck. Also, the prosecutor said that two high ranking officials had cell phones but would not give the names.
The result of the hanging has angered many Sunni Muslims who are now conducting peaceful demonstrations on the streets of Iraq. The Iraqi government has not stated what, if any, punishment would await the people who taunted Saddam Hussein and the person that leaked the video of the execution. I am sure that the Iraqi government will comment more after the investigation.
